Christ Calms The Storm
January 4, 2026
Patrick Waller
Luke 8:22-25
In calming the storm Jesus shows the disciples more of Himself, namely His omnipotence. Though it was a harrowing experience for them they needed to see more of Christ. When troubles assail us in life instead of questioning if God cares that we are perishing our response should be to draw near to Him to learn more of Him.
A Demoniac Healed

Luke 8:26-39
Legion is possessed by over 5,000 demons and with a word, Jesus delivers him. He was a hopeless case until Jesus shows up. The truth is that all those who have come to faith in Christ were in the same situation Legion
was. We were following the prince of the power of the air, dead in or sins and Jesus delivered us. This is the gospel.
A Touch OF Faith
January 18, 2026
Patrick Waller
Luke 8:40-48
In all tribulation Jesus calls us to, "take heart, He has overcome the world." The picture Luke consistently paints is our savior overcoming anything that is put in His way. Storms, demons, disease and death are no match for Jesus. In the tribulations and disasters of our lives when all hope seems lost, we reach out and touch Him in faith.
Child, Arise

Luke 8:49-56
Jairus daughter is now dead, the question is whether he will still believe Jesus can heal her or not. When circumstances go from bad to worse our belief tends to go with it and Jesus asks us in those moments, "not to fear; only believe." Jesus proves He is in control in this awesome display of His power over death.

This Is Discipleship
February 1, 2026
Patrick Waller
Luke 9:1-6
Jesus's ministry is reaching a critical point where He must begin to replicate Himself. This is where the disciples are called to action. They have been listing, watching, and learning but now they are called to go. You and I cannot sit on the sidelines the whole of our Christian experience, at a certain point we have to put all we've learned into action and go.
The Most Important Question
February 8, 2026
Patrick Waller
Luke 9:7-9
Herod asks the most important question anyone could ask. "Who is this about whom I hear such things?" It is a question we all must ask and answer correctly; our eternal destinies depend on it. Herod eventually meets Jesus face to face, an opportunity to answer this question but by then Jesus has no answer for him.
5,000 Fed
February 15, 2026
Patrick Waller
Luke 9:10-17
The feeding of the 5,000 is a pivotal lesson for the disciples. They see no way for the needs of the people to be met. Jesus teaches them that whatever they have, little as it may be, in the hands of the creator can accomplish miraculous things. Precisely what happens as they go forth carrying the gospel to the nations and establishing the church.
The Christ And Your Cross
February 22, 2026
Patrick Waller
Luke 9:18-27
The prevailing opinion of the people as to Jesus' identity is that He is one of the prophets come back to life. When He
asks His disciples point blank, "who do you say I am," their response is, "you are the Christ of God." It can be tempting to go along with the cultures faulty idea of who Jesus is but if we are ever to follow Him, we must know Him as the Christ of God.

A Glimpse Of Glory
March 1, 2026
Patrick Waller
Luke 9:28-36
Here Jesus pulls back the veil ever so briefly and reveals His blazing glory to Peter, James, and John on the mountain. Peter can't help himself and suggests to Jesus they commemorate the occasion by building tents. If we are honest, many times we find ourselves speaking when what we should be doing is listening to Jesus.
A String Of Failures
March 8, 2026
Patrick Waller
Luke 9:37-45
For all the disciples have learned they still have a long way to go. Just when it seems like they are getting it, failure ensues. In our walk with Christ, we will never have it all figured out; we will fail. But in those failures thankfully Jesus doesn't cast us off, we grow in His grace and knowledge.
A String Of Failures Part 2
March 15, 2026
Patrick Waller
Luke 9:46-56
The disciples continue to fail in various areas of character and ministry. However with each failure they are reminded of what Jesus has been modeling for them. When we fail in our Christian walk, instead of wallowing in those failures we should take the opportunity to be reminded of what Jesus has modeled and be encouraged that He is creating a masterpiece in us.
How Much Does It Cost?
March 22, 2026
Patrick Waller
Luke 9:57-62
The great majority of our decisions derive from the answer to one question; how much does it cost? When we know the cost the next question is, is it important enough for me to pay that. Jesus encounters three would-be followers along the road and through His answers to their desire to follow Him, we learn that if we are to do so we must first count the cost.
Who Is This King?
March 29, 2026
Patrick Waller
John 12:12-19
The reality of the triumphal entry is that the same people who are praising Jesus are the same ones who will be shouting for Him to be crucified just days later, proving they don't actually know who this king is. This should prompt us to ask ourselves, do we know who this king is and what it means to be in His kingdom.

Resurrection Joy
April 5, 2026
Patrick Waller
John 20
On Easter morning Mary is weeping, the disciples are afraid for their lives, and Thomas is doubting. Yet in a moment something happens. Their whole attitude changes and they're overwhelmed with joy. Why? The only
explanation is they encounter the risen Christ. For all those who have trusted Him, that same joy is ours.
The 72 Sent
April 12, 2026
Patrick Waller
Luke 10:1-4
Of all the people who followed Jesus only a select few were truly devoted to Him. The twelve immediately come to mind but in Luke 10 we find 72 more who are devoted and mature enough for Jesus to send them out as His witnesses. If Jesus were to hand select a group to be His ambassadors today, would you be in that group?
The 72 Sent Part 2
April 19, 2026
Patrick Waller
Luke 10:5-16
Having given the seventy-two instructions for their trip Jesus now lets them know what to do when their message is received and what to do when it is rejected. According to Jesus there are drastic consequences of judgement when the gospel is rejected. It seems the more access to the message one has the harsher the consequences when it is refused.
The Disciples Joy
April 26, 2026
Patrick Waller
Luke 10:17-20
When the seventy-two return they are overjoyed that even the demons are subject to them. They are learning the life of a disciple is one of a spiritual battle in which demons flee in Jesus' name. Satan is ultimately a defeated
enemy but only through Jesus' power. And because of that our true joy is that our names are written in heaven.

Jesus' Joy
May 3, 2026
Patrick Waller
Luke 10:21-24
Jesus no doubt rejoiced and was joyful at times during His ministry but Luke 10 is the only time where we read that He rejoiced. It is over the fact that through the Father's good will He has revealed the wonders of the kingdom to the childlike in faith. If Jesus rejoices over these things, then how much more should we rejoice in them.
The Good Portion
May 10, 2026
Patrick Waller
Luke 10:38-42
Jesus says there is one thing that is necessary and it is to sit and learn at His feet. Martha was doing great things for Jesus but that wasn't the priority. Mary chose the good portion, the one thing necessary.
We can get so caught up with good things that we miss the one thing that is necessary, to learn at Jesus feet.
The Good Samaritan
May 17, 2026
Patrick Waller
Luke 10:25-37
Many have come to believe that this parable is simply about doing good things for people in need. But there is far more to what Jesus is doing in telling this story. This lawyer may have loved God, but he hated his neighbor.
Our love for God and our love for others is inextricably linked. You cannot have one without the other.
Teach Us To Pray
May 24, 2026
Patrick Waller
Luke 11:1-13
The disciples come to Jesus and ask very straightforwardly, "Lord, teach us to pray." What Jesus gives them is a model prayer commonly known as the Lord's prayer. He teaches them first how to pray and then secondly, the heart behind prayer. As our Father, God desires to give His children good gifts but we must ask, seek, and knock. Our love for God and our love for others is inextricably linked. You cannot have one without the other.
With Me Or Against Me
May 31, 2026
Patrick Waller
Luke 11:14-26
Jesus has reached a turning point in His ministry; overwhelmingly sufficient evidence has by now been presented that He is in fact the Messiah of God. Jesus says, if you are not with Me then by default you are against Me. Choose this day who you will serve, the kingdom of God or the kingdom of darkness.
