Salvation

What is Salvation and what am I being saved from?

Salvation

Deliverance from sin and its consequences brought about by faith in Jesus Christ.

Who Is Jesus?

He is the Son of God who was crucified and raised from the dead for the salvation of all who trust in Him. Christ is not Jesus's last name, but identifies Him as the Messiah

Why was Jesus crucified

Jesus was crucified because God sacrificed him to atone for humanity's sins. This was prophesized in Old Testament scriptures.

The Good News

If you want to understand more about God and what it means to have a relationship with Him, see what the Bible says below:

God is perfectly good.

And Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good except God alone.” MARK 10:18

God loves you.

Your eyes have seen my unformed substance; and in Your book were all written the days that were ordained for me, when as yet there was not one of them. PSALM 139:16

Every person is flawed by sin.

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. ROMANS 3:23

Our sin prevents life God’s way.

But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden His face from you so that He does not hear. ISAIAH 59:2

God still loves us.

But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. ROMANS 5:8

God gave His Son to bear the consequences of our sin.

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.JOHN 3:16

You can have life God’s way by believing on Jesus.

That if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. ROMANS 10:9

How do you Belive?

Confess

Acknowledge your sin.

But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness. 1 JOHN 1:9, NLT

Believe

God is able to make you holy through Jesus.

And this is his commandment: We must believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as he commanded us. 1 JOHN 3:23, NLT

Turn

Stop practicing the sin that is separating you from God.

Therefore, I will judge each of you, O people of Israel, according to your actions, says the Sovereign Lord. Repent, and turn from your sins. Don’t let them destroy you! EZEKIEL 18:30, NLT

Ask

Express to God your desire to be forgiven and made sinless by Him.

For “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” ROMANS 10:13, NLT

Trust

God has given you eternal life.

And this is what God has testified: He has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have God’s Son does not have life. 1 JOHN 5:11–12, NLT
